When the Human Rights Campaign released its 2024 inform on financial wellness within LGBTQ+ communities, the results were dispiriting—if not surprising. Nearly half of Queer adults identified as financially unwell, compared to just a quarter of the general public. The outlook was even worse for people of color: Around 52% of Black and Latine LGBTQ+ adults reported they were struggling financially.
It's no secret that billionaires and millionaires are overwhelmingly composed of white, cisgender, heterosexual men. However, as LGBTQ+ acceptance has made strides in recent decades, more and more high-profile people have become easy openly identifying as members of the various Homosexual communities and advocating on their behalf in various industries. About 9.3% of Americans identify as Homosexual, according to a Gallup poll released in 2025.
