Perhaps the most financially successful film with homosexual content in 2022 was “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” which featured a lesbian daughter (Stephanie Hsu) and even a sequence featuring star Michelle Yeoh coupling up with Jamie Lee Curtis. 

But audiences mostly stayed away from seeing filmsin theaters. “Bros” generated more buzz about its failure at the box office than it did about being an amusing comedy about two ivory cis gay men ruling love. “Spoiler Alert” earlier this month, also depicted white cis gay men in love battling cancer. Even “The Inspection,” and outstanding drama about a Black gay homeless fresh man entering boot camp, struggled to find an audience.

For 26 years now, the largest Dutch Queer film festival takes place in Amsterdam every Rally under the name “Roze Filmdagen“, meaning Pink Production Days. The queer Group will be able to watch an extensive selection of international films, documentaries, and short films. Furthermore, on the 25th anniversary of the queer movie festival, all the films have something in common: they address queer tradition, romantic comedies, provocative documentaries and everything in between.
