Rapper lil b gay

Rapper Lil B is coming out as a direct, gay man, and it's costing him many of his hard-earned fans. Not that it bothers him.

The rising hip-hop MC and former member of The Pack announced earlier in April that he planned to name his upcoming album "I'm Gay," despite not being a gay. For him, it's a re-appropriation of the synonyms, as well as a statement in support of the gay community.

"I'm very gay, but I adore women. I'm not attracted to men in any way. I've never been attracted to a gentleman in my life. But yes I am lgbtq+, I'm so happy. I'm a gay, heterosexual male," he told MTV. "I got major love for the gay and queer woman community, and I just want to push less separation and that's why I'm doing it."

Even so, the album title has spawned a nasty backlash against him, as he said he's "many of my supporters have turned on me," and he gets messages from some saying "I'm gonna bash your head in," "you fa**ot," and 'I'm gonna kill you."

The Berkeley-based rapper said that he's trying to break barriers in the hip-hop world; former MTV producer and hip-hop expert Terrence Dean recently wrote a book, titled "Hiding In Hip Hop: On The Down Deep (in pitch) in the Entertainment Industry Fr

Lil B Gets Death Threats After Naming New Album “I’m Gay”

Rapper Lil B is getting death threats after he announced at Coachella that he is naming his upcoming album “I’m Gay.” He told MTV, “People been hitting me like, ‘I’m gonna bash your head in,’ ‘you f***t,’ ‘I’m gonna kill you.”

Regardless of his album’s title, Lil B says that he is not gay. He says he is “gay,” though, by the “extremely happy” definition. He said, “I’m very gay, but I love women. I’m not attracted to men in any way. I’ve never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay. I’m so happy. I’m a homosexual, heterosexual male.”

GLAAD had this to say: “As a lyricist, Lil B knows that words matter. Slurs have the power to fuel intolerance. We expect that Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere strive to be an ally. He has the platform and the voice. We hope he uses it in a positive way.”

Lil B told MTV, “I got major love for the gay and sapphic community, and I just want to push less separation a

At his Coachella performance, Lil B, spirited as usual, announced that, because "words don't mean shit," he is going to form a record called I'm Gay. Words, of course, mean lots of things, which B is not unaware of, and he quickly clarified that he loves women, but that gay also means delighted. It also means lgbtq+, which, in rap, is the more prevalent definition (shout to Mister Cee). If he actually does release an album called I'm Gay, B will certainly be stirring the pot, but what might make it sizzle is to actually say that he is gay. Or that he is bisexual person. Or that he falls in somewhere on the LBGTQ scale. Barring that, he clearly is a spiritual graduate of the Gay-Straight Student Alliance, whatever side he sits on. Watch the video of B's announcement above. And, for those of you who know his words are ones to dwell by, last week Twitter blessedly verified Lil B's account with their turquoise stamp of approval. Just in case you mind someone else was re-tweeting every @ he gets.

It’s quite workable that Lil B is the greatest troll in hip hop. Only instead of lurking in note boards and forums, the man has spammed YouTube with hundreds of clips of unfiltered freestyles. But most recently he has baited fans and critics alike by choosing to name his latest album I’m Gay (I’m Happy). If the polarised response is any indication he’s been successful, no one seems to know quite how serious he really is. Lil B has had everything from death threats, to accusations of single-handedly ruining a genre, ironic so-bad-its-good appreciation, earnest critical reading of his work, and even unending love (judging by the numerous images of crying people captioned 'THANK YOU BASED GOD').

Im Gay (Im Happy) (sic) may come across like a bold utterance, but this is from a man who has also previously proclaimed ‘I'm Miley Cyrus’, ‘I’m Ellen DeGenerss’, ‘I’m Bill Clinton’ to name a rare examples. You can’t really blame GLAAD for cautiously hoping 'Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere strive to be an ally' - 'til recently it was probably fair to say that Lil B was more meme than human. But Im Lgbtq+ (Im Happy)
